THE GREAT COBAR Museum — Stage 1
Cobar, New South Wales
2020–2021
3-D Projects were commissioned by Cobar Shire Council to undertake exhibition design, curation and project management services for the Great Cobar Museum redevelopment.
With insufficient wall space for a conventional exhibition, 3DP employed a free-standing display frame system that supports an array of showcased artefacts and graphics whilst allowing tantalizing glimpses through original windows and exhibition spaces.
This project was winner of the 2022 National Trust NSW Heritage Awards Judges' Choice award, winner of the 2022 National Trust NSW Heritage Awards Conservation Built Heritage award, highly commended in the 2022 National Trust NSW Heritage Awards Conservation Interiors & Objects award and winner of the 2022 NSW Architecture Awards Creative Adaptation Award.
