THOMAS BALL’S POTTERY SITE INTERPRETATION

Inmark Tower, Sydney, New South Wales
2011

3-D Projects designed and curated a dramatic public artwork at Inmark Tower in central Sydney that interprets the history and archaeological excavations of Thomas Ball's pottery which operated on the site from c1801-23.

The artwork comprises a 12-metre long graphic printed to the Inmark Tower foyer glazing displaying a contemporary image of an authentically costumed 'Thomas Ball' character photographed in a scrub clearing approximating the Sydney brickfields c1801 at the commencement of Ball's pottery operations. Three showcase windows in the graphic display important pottery tools and artefacts uncovered during the archaeological excavations.
